Blue Skies BESS
Blue Skies BESS is a 300-megawatt, two-hour Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) planned for Hill County, Texas in the ERCOT North region. Strategically sited near existing energy infrastructure, the project minimizes development impacts while maximizing grid connectivity.
Blue Skies BESS is a standalone project, operating independently of power generation facilities while complementing nearby energy resources. With major site control and interconnection requirements already secured, the project is well-positioned to move forward efficiently.
Once operational, Blue Skies BESS will balance electricity supply and demand during peak usage and extreme weather, storing energy when it's abundant and dispatching it when it's needed most. The project is designed to strengthen grid resilience, stabilize prices, and support Texas's evolving energy mix.
