Misty Pines connects to Entergy’s transmission system in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator’s (MISO) operating footprint. This project will power the equivalent of approximately 25,000 homes, will support up to 200 construction jobs, and will contribute approximately $17M in local tax benefits for Ashley County over its operating life. Primergy plans to build and operate the project using solar panels and other essential equipment made in the United States, supporting domestic manufacturing and energy security.

FAQ

When will construction start and how long will it take?

Construction is scheduled to commence in November 2026 and will be completed early 2028.

Is solar safe?

Yes - photovoltaic (PV) panels meet strict electrical safety standards and are designed to ensure that there is no release or leakage of panel material into the surrounding environment. The solar array will be fenced to ensure safety and security.

Does solar create noise or disturbances?

Solar panels operate quietly, with only minimal noise during daytime power generation and no activity at night. Setbacks further reduce any potential noise. Solar panels also do not pollute. They produce no combustion, emissions, odors, water discharge, or significant glare.

What happens at the end of the project’s life?

At the end of the project’s useful life, Primergy will fully decommission the facility, including dismantling and removing all project infrastructure. A decommissioning bond or similar financial assurance will be in place to ensure funds are available for this work. Once decommissioning is complete, the project area will be restored to the same or better condition than it was prior to construction, in accordance with applicable permits and agreements.
