The  Purple Sage Energy Center is a 400 MW solar photovoltaic facility paired with  a 400 MW battery, providing 1.6 GWh of storage capacity in Clark County,  Nevada. The project is sited in one of the country’s most optimal solar power locations because of its proximity to grid demand and abundance of sun.

The  addition of battery energy storage expands the project’s ability to support evolving grid needs by providing greater operational flexibility and responsiveness. Purple Sage represents a significant milestone in Primergy’s renewable energy portfolio and reflects the company’s commitment to advancing responsibly sited, utility‑scale energy infrastructure on public lands.

Project Overview

The project benefits

At Primergy, we develop solar projects with communities at the center, prioritizing local partnerships, environmental stewardship, and long-term impact. Our approach provides energy solutions that respect the land, empower people, and create sustainable value.

The Purple Sage Energy Center is a utility‑scale energy project located in Clark County, Nevada, southeast of Pahrump and west of Las Vegas. The project consists of a 400 MW solar photovoltaic facility paired with a 400 MW battery energy storage system, designed to deliver clean, reliable energy while supporting grid flexibility.

Purple Sage has a fully executed power purchase agreement in place and will interconnect to the GridLiance 230‑kilovolt Trout Canyon Substation, part of the CAISO transmission system. A Large Generator Interconnection Agreement (LGIA) has been executed, establishing the project’s path to grid connection.

Purple Sage’s design prioritizes responsible siting by minimizing grading, avoiding major desert washes, and incorporating wildlife‑friendly fencing along with other environmental protection measures. Primergy is working to advance best practices for the siting, design, and construction of energy infrastructure projects on public lands
