As summer comes to a close, we’re grateful for the time we’ve had with our interns and the work they contributed across Primergy. Over the past few months, they’ve had the opportunity to learn more about the energy industry while gaining hands-on experience alongside their mentors and teams. Their contributions have brought fresh perspectives and added value company wide. We asked our interns to reflect on their internship experience, including what stood out most, what they learned along the way, and how their time at Primergy shaped their professional growth.

How would you describe your internship experience to someone considering an internship at Primergy?

“I would describe it as a hands-on learning experience where interns are trusted with meaningful work. From day one, I was encouraged to ask questions, learn from experienced team members, and contribute to active projects. The team was incredibly supportive, but they also challenged me to think critically and take ownership of my work. By the end of the internship, I felt like I had gained not only technical knowledge, but a much better understanding of how energy projects move from concept to reality, as well as confidence in my professional self.”

Can you share a project or experience from your internship that has been especially meaningful or memorable?  

“One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on has been helping implement expanded employee health and wellness benefits. I was involved from the beginning when we were researching and selecting the new program, all the way through implementation. I especially enjoyed helping with the fertility benefit because it was rewarding to work on something that will directly support employees.”

What has been your favorite part of working with your team at Primergy?  

"The best part has been how helpful and knowledgeable everyone is. I've asked a ton of questions and always get real answers. A few former interns who are now full-time employees have sent me resources and offered their help, which has been really awesome."

What has been the most interesting or surprising thing you've learned about the energy industry during your internship?  

“It's been fascinating to see how different departments and skill sets come together to reach a shared goal. Everyone contributes a specific piece, and it all comes together cohesively in the end.”

Can you share a project or experience from your internship that has been especially meaningful or memorable?  

“This summer has been an absolute joy. I really appreciate everything Primergy does for its employees, the people I’ve met, and, most importantly, the chance to do meaningful work. One of the most rewarding parts of my internship has been building automation tools that have become part of the team’s workflow. That’s something I’m very passionate about, and I feel like I’m contributing something the team will be able to use for a long time. The opportunity to make that kind of impact at Primergy is something I’ll always be grateful for.”

What inspired you to choose Primergy for your internship?  

“Primergy stood out to me because of its small team feel. Through the internship, I’ve been able to learn more, meet people across different parts of the company, and see what I actually want to do for the rest of my life. It’s also in the energy sector, and since I’m studying electrical engineering, it has been a great opportunity for me to explore what I want to do in the future.”

What inspired you to choose Primergy for your internship?

“I was inspired to choose Primergy when the company came to my school for an internship information session. The presentation was super interesting, and it was clear how much people cared about the work they were doing and the impact it had. Talking with some of the team members there, including Collette, who is now my manager, also gave me a lot of insight into her role and the renewable energy space.”
